Does Martha Coakley Realize She Is A Dead Woman Walking?

It is another day, another gaffe by the current queen of gaffes, current Massachusetts Attorney General, Martha Coakley. Oh yeah, and the Democrat candidate in the special election to replace the late Ted Kennedy in the senate.
Tonight, Mrs. Coakley had a audacity to say that former Boston Red Sox pitching great, Curt Schilling, was a. . .YANKEES fan?! As in NEW YORK YANKEES?!
Well, yes she did.
Now, maybe to the non-sports fan it is not a big deal. But, dear dear Mrs. Coakley, sports fans do vote. And they know when a candidate is a real sports fan or not.
Take the man you hope to be next to in the senate, John Kerry.
He was running for president or something in 2004. Made a campaign appearance in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The home of the Green Bay Packers. Sen. Kerry was trying to cozy up to the locals when he referred to the home field as Lambert Field. It was named after the great Packers coach, Curly Lambeau. Now, unless he changed his name at some point and only Sen. Kerry knew it. Well, you get the picture. An elitist phony that knows nothing about sports.
Once you listen to this dimwit talk about Mr. Schilling the way she does-and you have to listen to the whole thing at the link-you have to come to this conclusion.
Martha Coakley knows it. That she is a dead woman walking and can't wait for the campaign to end.
In this more and more personalized era of campaigning, one has to really know their base voters and potential voters. Take no one for granted.
Mrs. Coakley was mocking her Republican opponent, state Sen. Scott Brown, for standing in the cold last week at Gillette Stadium before the NFL playoff game between the New England Patriots and Baltimore Ravens. Mr Brown was doing good, ol' fashioned retail campaigning. Shaking hands with base and potential voters. Mrs. Coakley said this about Sen. Brown.

Coakley bristles at the suggestion that, with so little time left, in an election with such high stakes, she is being too passive.
“As opposed to standing outside Fenway Park? In the cold? Shaking hands?’’ she fires back, in an apparent reference to a Brown online video of him doing just that. “This is a special election. And I know that I have the support of Kim Driscoll. And I now know the members of the [Salem] School Committee, who know far more people than I could ever meet.’’

WOW!
Such arrogance.
But not surprising.
It is that kind of arrogance that has Mrs. Coakley in trouble in the first place.
Only four more days until we can say Sen-elect Scott Brown. Take some time this weekend to get involved.
I know a lot of Red Sox fans will. And one former player named Schilling will be very involved!
