One House Down, One To Go To Spendulus Porkulus

The House of Representatives, to no one's surprise, voted for the so-called economic "stimulus" plan, 246-183 with seven Democrats voting with all the Republicans against this abomination.
My congressman, Democrat Adam Schiff, voted with President Obama in a $789,000,000,000 payback act for Democrat supporters.
It appears that the bipartisanship on this matter is with those opposed to this so-called economic "stimulus" scam.
If you are represented by one of the brave seven Democrats, call them and thank them for voting against this abomination.
And, lets be clear. NO MEMBER OF THE HOUSE has taken the time to read the 1,071 page behemoth. Note this gem from Missouri Democrat congressman Emmanuel Cleaver:

“There is plenty to complain about for everyone, and perhaps that’s the sign of a good compromise,” said U.S. Rep. Emanuel Cleaver, a Missouri Democrat. “Regardless of party, we all cast our votes with one hand and crossed our fingers with the other.”

Yes, do not read a 1,071 page bill. And, if one does not read it, and vote for it, can we blame them when the scam does not work?
This is an abysmal moment in the history of the United States.
The fact that we have an administration, led by President Obama himself, stoking fears of massive unemployment if this plan is not passed, with absolutely no oversight or debate should scare most Americans.
But, it does not appear to be doing that.
Most Americans want government to do something, they just do not seem to know what. And, that is just how the Obama administration and the Democrat congress likes it. So, that by the time the American people realize the mistake that was made, it maybe too late.
Remember there is a mid term election in 2010.
Some hope and change. Its more like hype and the same.

Well, since you feel so strongly against this bill, I'm sure that at least you've read it, right?

I mean, you wouldn't talk about something that you didn't know the first thing about, would you?

I have not read the WHOLE bill, but I am certain you did not either. And the point is that congress, both Democrats and Republicans, needed to at least have 48 hours to read the bill. I am shocked, shocked I tell you, that as a DEMOCRAT, you would not want to let the sunshine in as President Obama promised!

Yeah, it's as I thought - you haven't the slightest idea of what you're talking about.

I guess a fair question would be how many bills has Rightwingsnarkle completely read that he opposes.

I'm sure there must have been some things the Bush Administration got through Congress he didn't agree with.

There is an old saying about "glass houses"......

On the plus side, the Dems now own the economy. You got your big "stimulus" through, now let's see if it works.

I would really like to know from snarkle what the stimulus is funding and stimulating. I will wait for its detailed description of each and every page, all 1000+ of them. :)N

Like they read ANY of their bills before they sign 'em. They (we) PAY people to read 'em. Apparently it took three days after the bill was finished for Obama to slog his way through it.
