Here Is Some Sane Thoughts On Friday's Maybe Debate

I should not be amazed but the Dinosaur, Drive-By, Mainstream, Obama-Worshiping Media is shrieking and in apoplexy over the possibility that the Friday night presidential debate maybe-Da horror!-p o s t p o n e d!
Note, I wrote postponed, not cancelled.
You would not think that reading the DDBMSOWM analysis of the suspension of Republican presidential nominee Sen. John "F--- You" McCain's active presidential campaign. Sen. "F--- You" McCain thought that in the midst of a potential financial meltdown*, it might be a good idea to actually be a senator, his current job, and go to Washington and as the titular head of his party and help lead to a solution of this mess.
But, nooooooo!!!!
The Democrat presidential nominee, Sen. Messiah Barack Hussein Obama and his Sherpas in the DDBMSOWM are crying foul. That Sen. "F--- You" McCain is playing politics-as if no one else is during this mess-and trying to avoid the vaunted foreign policy debate Friday night.
Nonsense!
John Poderetz makes an excellent point about the DDBMSOWM and the pundit class just making unimportant events seem important and putting out disinformation on other issues to seemingly suit their own agendas.
And Fred Barnes writes a very interesting history of how these debates came into being in the first place. And how so out of touch this Commission On Presidential Debates is. The commission choosing the moderators for the three presidential and one vice-presidential debate is like a visit to the La Brea Tar Pits here in Los Angeles. The moderators are Jim Lehrer, Gwen Ifill, Tom Brokaw, and Bob Schieffer. Note that not one is from any cable news and or business network.
I am not all that certain that we will end up learning a lot about either candidate that we do not already know about. The formats are stifling. And, when there will be a so-called town hall style debate, the viewers and listeners are just going to have to trust this commission that they will really have undecided voters and that the deck won't be stacked.
The reality is that Sen. "F--- You" McCain had it right.
A town hall debate once a week for 10 weeks. Any subject, any time, any place.
But no, the Sen. Messiah Barack people did not want that. They wanted these nice, tidy "debates" that are more of an attempt to score potential points on any candidate with a "gotcha" moment.
The world will not come to an end if come Friday evening at this time, there has not been a debate. It will happen. Probably next week.
But, if there is not some kind of solution to this financial services mess and very soon, our financial world may come crumbling down.

*As I write this post, my bank, Washington Mutual failed and is being bought by JPMorgan Chase.
