Clay Aiken Is Gay-And We Are Supposed To Be Shocked?!

On a bit o' the 'culture' watch, American Idol runner up Clay Aiken finally reveals one of the world's worst kept secrets. Here we go. . .HE'S GAY!

Wow! I can not believe it!

Well, actually, I can believe it and and not surprised in the least that Mr. Aiken finally openly admitted what most who follow entertainment have known for a long time. Since he had a child in a rather unconventional manner-his female friend and record producer, Jaymes Foster (yes Jaymes is a she!), he felt it was time to "come clean", so to speak.

There is no problem that Mr. Aiken is gay. He had to choose his time and place and need to let people know that he was or was not. And, maybe he himself did not really know until he decided to have a child. Especially in the manner that he did.

That is why the following makes a mockery out of those who are really gay and or lesbian who are trying to just live their loves like anyone else.

Pop slut Lindsey Lowlife, er Lohan, is admitting publicly that she is 'dating' DJ Samantha Ronson. It is another one of those worst kept secrets. But there is a real difference between Miss Lowlife and Mr. Aiken.

One really sturggled to come to terms with their sexual attractions and or sexuality. One is just very troubled and seeking a new vehicle for publicity.

Wanna guess which is which?

Mr. Aiken as little as two years ago went off on ABC anchor Dianne Sawyer when she asked him about the questions of his sexuality. Miss Lowlife just treats it like a joke. Like "rehab" and pretty much like everything his her life.

Mr. Aiken is a real role model for those that want to present the face that most of those who are gay and or lesbian are not the freak show that is seen in Gay "Pride" parades and or clubs and the like. While I freely admit that equating the same-sex relationship as marriage is something I do have a problem with, the other aspects such as legal rights for same-sex partners I do not have a problem with.

Miss Lowlife is like another publicity hound, actress Anne Heche.

Remember Miss Heche?

When the talk show host Ellen DeGeneres revealed that she was a lesbian, why Miss Heche said that she was too and they became the talk-of-the-town Hollowood same-sex couple. Too bad that not too long after, Miss Heche had a change of heart-and attraction-and said that she was not a lesbian but at most a switch-hitter, or to be politically correct, a bisexual.

And that is why much of the United States just does not get this stuff.

I agree with you that people should be in control of how and when, or whether or not, they reveal private information.

I'm no fan of Clay and yes, it was obvious what his sexual nature was, but I was impressed with his answers when people would poke their noses where it didn't belong (err, perhaps I should use a different phrase?).

The main problem I have with the gay activist crowd is that they get too "in your face" about it. They decide to flaunt and shock people. Maybe they desire a crash course in desensitization. But the problem is, that they have taken that extreme and made it their norm, thereby alienating any middle ground, independent thinkers. In our society, we have a lot of freedoms. One happens to be sexual orientation. So be it. In the Declaration of Independence, our founding fathers decided that we were to be a nation dedicated to freedom and that we had "the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness." If we truly believe that, then gay marriage should not be that big an issue. There are a lot of people that tout our Judeo/Christian heritage. But our nation was founded on freedom of religion and part of that freedom is to reject aspects of the Judeo/Christian beliefs against homosexuality. I am not gay, I don't want my kids to be gay but if someone is gay, then I believe they have the same rights to be happy as I do.
