I recommend reading the blog by Barry Cassleman at Real Clear Politics (realclearpolitics.com) concerning the upocoming midterm elections.
It points out one important fact that I have overlooked
That in the Republican tidal wave of 1994, what is what the Democrats are banking on, it was infect the Democrats that were taken aback and not prepared for what happened on election day that year. As Cassleman points out, the Republicans are very aware and running accordingly.
There are some other salient tidbits that were analyzed.
